YOU NEVER HAVE A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION

" I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little, if only out politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a day with destiny. And it is best to be as pretty as possible for destiny." - Coco Chanel

Once again, Coco you are impeccably right. I am not going to sit here and tell you that there are not days where I just completely and totally look like the towns hot mess. I have days where the thought of getting dressed, fixed up and waste a days outfit, on just simply running to the grocery make me cringe, I still try and look some what put together. I very well will more than likely have a hat on and leggings but I still try and have myself SOMEWHAT put together. I will never waste a fiercely, jamazing outfit on a trip to the market to buy milk and eggs, but I am about to let you ladies in on a well known secret. Two words JUICY SUIT. Make it your bumming around town uniform. They are so easy to throw on, come in a variety of colors and celebrities far and wide rock them all over town.

So no matter if you are running to the grocery, dropping off , bringing your child lunch or just simply have to run into Wal-Greens for a prescription, throw on a Juicy Suit because it never fails you will run into your husband or boyfriends ex-girlfriend, YOUR ex-boyfriend or the perfect PTA mom from your child's school, you will still be a fashionista.

WE ARE SEEING SPOTS

" My weakness is wearing to much leopard."- Jackie Collins

Not only does Ms. Collins give us a place to escape in some naughty reading material but she wears leopard print almost everyday of her life. God love her, a woman after my own heart. We ALWAYS have something leopard print in the store. Its my obsession and weakness. Leopard print is the perfect color combination. Its natures gift to us and literally goes with everything. Whether its your dress, pants, blouse, shoes or simply a scarf, leopard print is always guaranteed to be a hit.

So if you are like me you have a whole slew of leopard print in your closet or you need some spots in your wardrobe I know just the store to come fix that need! Xoxo

ITS ALL BLACK AND WHITE

"Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It's the perfect harmony." - Coco Chanel

Oh, Coco. You always say just the right things. I love a great piece in a fierce color, but there is nothing more classic than an ensemble that consist of all sophisticated black or crisp clean white. It truly is, as Ms. Chanel said herself, "the perfect harmony."

Rules.....What Rules?!

" Fashion, A.K.A Trends come and go. I have been victim of numerous "trends". It's a new era in fashion- there are no rules. It's all bout the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up and coming designers all together."- Alexander McQueen

"Don't be into trends, Don't make fashion own you, but decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live."- Gianni Versace

Yes, Alexander McQueen and Gianni Versace, I love you. When I read this, one person comes to mind. Lady Gaga. Now, with saying that let me explain.. I do not intend to go to the local meat market and ask the butcher to fashion a gown made out of meats, make my grand entrance in an egg or wear such an ensamble that I need assistance just to walk, but unless you have  been living underneath a rock, you know exactly who I am talking about. If I were to say green, dangerously low plunging neck and back line, we all know that I am referring to the Versace Jennifer Lopez rocked to the 2000 Grammys.

These are examples of extreme fashions. They are definitely not everyday wearable. It's about finding that thing when someone sees it, they say that has so and so's name written all over it. For me as we all know is accessories. May it be a hat, turbin, TONS of jewelry, I love using these pieces to take my look to the next level. When I was a little girl, I always had on very interesting outfits. I would pile everything from dress up clothes, jewelry, tiaras or even one of Daddy's t-shirts around my head (for long, lustrous hair of course!).

I have since thankfully grown out of the t-shirt on my head phase and have created my own style. I, like Mr. McQueen himself have fallen victim of numerous "trends". At the time I thought I was the bee's knees but now looking back I know I was sadly mistaken. Overalls, ponchos, tie dye, umbro shorts, denim skirts and the oh so used to be popular "skort". At the time these "trends" were popular. You see the thing about trends is they hardly ever last. So the number ONE rule when buying something that is very trendy. DO NOT SPEND MUCH because chances are they will only be good for half a season, a full season if you are lucky. Moral of this post, spend the majority of your clothing money on things that are classic, time less and will never go out of style and use only a small chunk of your change on whatever is the trend of the moment.

THE LBD

"One is never over dressed or under dressed with a little black dress." - Karl Lagerfeld

I could not agree more Mr. Lagerfeld. The little black dress or LBD as it has so lovingly been dubbed is the most classic look there is. Dressed up or down, going to work or play, a ball or banquet you will never go wrong with a LBD.

Strapless, one shoulder, lace, ruffles, classic front with an amazing back the LBD is the safest way to look amazing for any event, date or simply running errands around town.

Invest in a Little Black Dress and you will be in style for all the years to come. This is one trend that will NEVER go out of style.

PILE IT ON SISTA

"Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one accessory off."- Unknown
"Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and ADD one or two accessories."- Yours Truly

Yes, less sometimes can be more, but in my opinion for an everyday look there is nothing more stylish than a simple button up, skinnies, killer heels and tons of accessories. Every single day of my life whether I am asleep, awake, in the shower, on the beach, working out or out on the town, there are 4 distinctive things that will always be on my body ( I don't even remove them in the airport I just make them wand me.). Hoop earrings, my engagement ring, long gold chain with an "L" pendant and 8 St. Croix bracelets. Every single day on my body these will be on. When I want to really pile it on I'll add some jazziness to my right wrist (the St. Croix's live on my left.). I love to mix a men's ware watch, with a Dylan Rogers wrap bracelet or two, my mixed metal chain link with a double strand of vintage pearls. Spikes with sparkles, or leather and lace. Mix it up. Find what you like and make it yours.

If accessories aren't your thing, find something else to stand out in. Rock a sequin sheath and pair it with a beat up denim jacket and some seriously spiked heels or chunky wedges. Play with it. Mix things up. You might wear something one day and hate it the next, but without trial and error how else do you determine your "look."
Live it, Love it and make it YOURS.

From Ms. Coco Chanel Herself

" Only those with no memory insist on their originality." - Coco Chanel

People can argue all day long that a certain designer is the most original, trendy, fashion forward, elegant, edgy, classy, and just all around this worlds' latest and greatest prodigy in the fashion world. In all actuality, not one person, trend, style or even idea, is an original. Everyone, every designer, every consumer, person that thinks she is going to change the world  of fashion or start an new hit trend, has not come up with her own idea but yet and idea she thought up using borrowed inspiration. Madonna wore the cone bra, Michael Jackson wore the single sequined glove, Cher was sheer body suits and long, stick straight, middle parted, jet black hair, Brittany Spears was the Catholic school girl and Lady Gaga brought on a whole slew of ideas and really and truly made the word original her own. \

With that being said, when you are trying to find your "it" look and that one thing that makes you, YOU, I am not suggesting you go out and buy the first bustier you see, pair it with some hot pants and a fiercely jazzy sequined glove, but look around, draw ideas and inspiration. You see a person wearing something you love, REMEMBER it. Take that one thing, pair it with something you have always been known for and then hit the streets, the magazines or simply your own closet. Find inspiration in everything you do, see, live, watch, touch,

Fashion and inspiration are everywhere. Again, no new style, trend or fashion staple are ever thought completely out of the blue. They are all, each and every single one of them, drawn from someone, something or idea that has already been established. the way you interpret them will always make them yours.

Now, am I saying pair a full length sequin ball gown with fiercely spiked heals and a mink stole? A distressed   denim button up chartreuse with an ostrich feather mini and triple platform over the knee boot with exposed zipper......MAYBE. I think all of those looks are beyond, and I personally can't wait to bust them out, but that's me. Not everyone will agree I am sure!

What I am saying for sure, is take one piece and make it yours. When I say no one is original pertaining to fashion this is the perfect example. You see someone walking along the street in a perfectly tailored black pencil skirt and matching blazer with a classic 4 inch double platform shoe. You think Office Chic. YES that she is, but I would look at her and think if I were going from a meeting to a nigh out how could I take these exact same pieces and turn them into 3 different looks that do not revolve around the office and meetings.

1. Crisp white collard shirt, black mini ( loosely and messy semi tucked in) and the classic 4 inch double platforms, paired with loads of FIERCE accessories.

2. Blazer, Skinnies, your classic 4 inch double platforms and the fiercest bag and jewels.

3. High waisted pencil skirt, classic 4 inch double platforms, a nice fitted tank, paired with a triple layer of double strand (preferably Chanel) pearls, a chain length Yerman and more menswear on the wrist than Coco herself would know what do to with.

Look around, read the magazines, and "steal" others looks. Just remember to always make them yours and unique. Get the idea and inspiration from someone and something but hen find a way to make tit your s.
